Movie: The Regina Pierce Affair
Director: Madison Monroe
Critic rating: 4
Pornstar-cum-director Madison Monroe gets behind the camera again in this softcore take-off of the THomas Crown Affair that's sure to satisfy fans of Amber Newman and CC Costigan. Costigan plays the femme-fatale of the title, a sexually unsaitisfied lass who only seems to get her rocks off when she watches a couple she pays (the female half of which is Amber Newman) go to town. Ah yes, but Ms. Pierce is also a notorious cat burglar and con woman, and she has her eyes set on a rare collection which she deems will be the final score of her career. Enter Costigan's on-again off-again real life husband Brian Heidik as a cop who is alternately attracted to Ms. Pierce's "assets" and to the idea of nabbing her in the act.
The girls, of course, look terrific in this Surrender Cinema production, and Newman has arguably her best softcore couplings ever. Alas, Holly Sampson and Costigan set off some fireworks themselves, specifically Costigan in a nine-and-a-half minuite sex scene with Heidik that makes good on several scenes of topless teasing before it.
While not a terribly absorbing plot, Regina Pierec does do more to make you think in between the sex scenes than most movies in the genre, and the camerawork, lighting, editing and direction are all superb, with most of the movie being shot with a constantly (and artfully) roaming steadicam. This is a highly recommended gem of couples' erotica.
